Inventoried as it goes in
Every item numbered against a list before it enters the container. You get the list. It is the difference between knowing where the spare dining chairs are and hoping.
Storage
Containerised storage loaded at your address, inventoried on the way in, and kept until you are ready. Not a unit you drive to — and this page is upfront about which of those you actually need.
Most people searching for storage in Greenwich want one of two quite different things. Some want a unit with a roller door that they can visit whenever they like. Others have a completion date that has slipped, a renovation starting, or a long stretch abroad ahead of them, and they need their whole household to go somewhere safe and come back intact.
We do the second one. It is containerised storage, it is loaded by us at your address as part of the move, and it is the right answer far more often than people expect — particularly in SE10, where getting a hired van anywhere near a period terrace to load a self-storage unit yourself is its own small nightmare.

If you have told us you will need the winter coats and the desk before everything else, those go in last so they come out first. This is the single most useful thing you can tell us up front.
Things that sit still for months want different protection from things that travel for an afternoon. Upholstery covered, mattresses bagged, nothing bearing weight it was not built for.
The container is closed at your address and not opened again until it reaches you. Fewer hands on your belongings than any arrangement where you load a unit yourself.
The honest comparison
We are not going to pretend our way is right for everybody. Here is the actual difference, and the row that decides it for most people is the third one.
We do, at your address, as part of the move.
You do, at the facility, usually on the very morning you are already moving house.
Twice — in at your old place, out at your new one.
Four or more: into your vehicle, into the unit, back out, and on again.
Possible, with notice — the container has to be brought to a working area first.
Whenever the facility is open, which is the real advantage of a self-storage unit.
A gap between completion dates, a renovation, a spell abroad, downsizing.
Stock, tools, a hobby that has outgrown the flat, anything you visit regularly.
The chain that breaks a fortnight out. The Peninsula flat that completes before the house does. The period terrace getting rewired, where everything has to leave and come back. And a steady stream of people going abroad for a stretch who would rather their furniture waited here than travelled twice.
Downsizing is the other big one. Greenwich houses hold a great deal, and moving into something smaller means a proportion of it has nowhere to go for a while — usually the proportion nobody can face deciding about yet.
Roughly how much there is, roughly how long, and — most usefully — whether there is anything you know you will want back before the rest. That last one shapes how the container is loaded, and it is nearly impossible to fix afterwards.
It is quoted alongside it, not bolted on. If you are mid-house move the same crew loads both. If you are heading to France, Spain, Italy or Portugal, storage here is often what makes an uncertain destination date workable.
No, and we would rather say so plainly. What we offer is containerised storage as part of a move — we load a container at your address, it goes into a secure warehouse, and it comes back out at the other end. If what you actually want is a unit you can drive to and visit on a Sunday, that is a self-storage company's product, not ours, and we will happily point you towards one.
From a short overlap between completion dates to a long spell while you are abroad or renovating. Tell us roughly how long when we quote, because it changes how the container is packed rather than just how long it sits there.
With notice, yes. The container has to be brought out to a working area, so it is arranged rather than dropped in on. If you know in advance you will need regular access, say so — that is the situation where a self-storage unit genuinely suits you better.
Storage cover and its limits are set out in the storage agreement, separately from the transit cover for the move itself. Read both before you commit, and declare anything unusually valuable so it is properly accounted for.
Anything flammable or pressurised, perishable food, plants, and anything living. Documents, jewellery and cash should stay with you. Damp-sensitive items are fine but tell us — they get packed differently.
It is one of the commonest reasons people use it. Your things stay here, inventoried, until the destination address is genuinely ready, and the load goes out when you confirm. That is far better than a vehicle arriving somewhere nobody can open.
Our storage works as part of a move, because we load it at your address. If you are not moving, a self-storage unit is almost certainly the better answer and probably the cheaper one.
It depends on volume and duration, and it is quoted alongside the move rather than from a list. We will always tell you what a shorter or longer period changes before you commit to either.
Tell us roughly how much, roughly how long, and what you will want back first. We will quote it with the move.
