Greenwich Removals SE10 · Royal Borough

Coverage

Where we work, and what each street actually does to a removal van

The honest version of a coverage map. Which roads are impossible, where the gradients matter, which buildings need paperwork, and the places we would send you elsewhere.

Greenwich

SE10

Georgian and Regency terraces, Victorian houses and the conversions inside them, town-centre flats behind the market.

Access

The old town is the tightest work we do. Crooms Hill, Royal Hill and the streets between them are narrow, parked solid and almost entirely without driveways. Suspended bays through the Royal Borough are routine here, and a handful of streets will not take a Luton at all — for those we shuttle from a workable point and say so at quote stage.

Timing

Visitor traffic between the Cutty Sark, the market and the park gates builds through the morning, so loads start early where the street allows it.

Most common job

Period house moves, conversion flats, part loads and a steady run of tenancy changeovers.

Greenwich Peninsula

SE10

Modern riverside apartments — Millennium Village, New Capital Quay and the newer blocks along the river path.

Access

Concierge buildings with booked service lifts, timed loading bays and a goods entrance that is very often not the door on the map. Some blocks want insurance documents and a method statement in advance; a few restrict moving hours entirely. We handle that correspondence before the date so the day is a move rather than a negotiation.

Timing

Set by the building, not by us. Where a lift slot is available we plan the load order around it so the lift runs full.

Most common job

Flat moves in and out, young professionals, and relocations for work.

Blackheath

SE3

Grand period houses along the heath edge, Victorian terraces in the village, garden flats behind them.

Access

The village streets are tight and the heath edge is exposed — genuinely windy, which matters more than it sounds when you are carrying a wardrobe across open ground. Parking varies street by street and the roads around the station fill early.

Timing

Blackheath straddles the Greenwich and Lewisham boundary. We work the Greenwich side regularly and will point you at a Lewisham-based firm when a job clearly sits with them.

Most common job

Large period house moves, family moves, and downsizing out of houses that have held a lot for a long time.

Westcombe Park

SE3

Edwardian and Victorian family houses on the slope running down towards the river.

Access

Long front paths and tiled steps, and streets that fall away sharply. Vehicles get chocked properly here — a loaded Luton on a Westcombe gradient is not something to improvise with. Front gardens are often narrow, so the carry from door to tailgate is longer than the map suggests.

Timing

Straightforward most of the day. The station end gets busy around the commuter peaks.

Most common job

Family house moves, and a good share of the period-handling work.

Maze Hill

SE10

Period terraces and conversions running up the east side of Greenwich Park.

Access

Steep, narrow at the top end, and parked from end to end. This is where we most often plan a suspended bay lower down the hill and shuttle up, because getting a long vehicle to the door is frequently not possible and pretending otherwise just costs everybody the morning.

Timing

Early, and dry if we can choose. The hill plus wet stone steps is the combination we least enjoy.

Most common job

Conversion flats, period terraces, and single awkward items that need four hands.

Charlton

SE7

Interwar semis, Victorian terraces around the village, newer closes towards the river.

Access

The easiest of our core areas — driveways genuinely exist. The catch is the village: the roads around the church are one-way and unforgiving, and the approach from the A102 slip roads dictates what time a large vehicle can sensibly arrive.

Timing

Avoid the school run and the match-day traffic, both of which turn a ten-minute approach into something else entirely.

Most common job

Family house moves, moves up from flats in SE10, and part loads out to Kent.

Beyond the core

Also within reach

We are not going to claim south-east London wholesale. These are the places we genuinely work, and what to expect from each.

Woolwich and Plumstead
Part of the Royal Borough and a straightforward run east. Woolwich has established removal firms based in SE18 who work those streets daily, so if your move is entirely within Woolwich they are worth asking first — we are not going to claim a district we visit rather than live in.
Eltham and Kidbrooke
South of the A2. Interwar semis and the newer Kidbrooke Village stock. Easier access than SE10 almost everywhere, and a common destination for people leaving Greenwich for a garden.
Deptford and New Cross
West along the river. Warehouse conversions, new blocks and a lot of shared houses. Lewisham borough, so shared ground rather than ours.
Lee and Hither Green
Beyond Blackheath. Victorian terraces with front gardens and slightly kinder parking than the Greenwich equivalent.
Kent and further out
A very common direction of travel. Out via the A2 or the A102 and onto the M25 or the M20 from there. Longer one-way moves are fine; they just want more notice so we can plan the vehicle rather than improvise it.

Leaving the country rather than the borough? The European removals hub covers road moves from Greenwich to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. For the services themselves, start at what we do, or go straight to house removals.

Coverage questions

Which areas do you actually cover?

SE10 is home ground — Greenwich town, Maze Hill and the Peninsula. SE3 and SE7 are a short run and we work them constantly. The rest of the Royal Borough we reach comfortably, and we go further out for one-way moves. Beyond that we would rather recommend somebody local than overreach.

Do you charge more for the hilly streets?

Not as a line item, but access shapes how long a job takes and time is part of any quote. A Maze Hill conversion that needs a shuttle costs more than a Charlton semi with a driveway holding identical furniture. We explain which of those you are before quoting, not afterwards.

How do parking permits and suspensions work?

Where a suspended bay is possible we apply to the Royal Borough on your behalf and build the notice period into the schedule. Where it is not, we plan a shuttle from the nearest workable point instead. Either way you know which it is before the day.

Can you move us out of London entirely?

Yes, and a lot of our work is exactly that — Kent, the south coast, and further. The route out is the A2 or the A102 to the M25. It is the same crew and the same standard, just a longer day.

Then we already know most of what we need to about the access. Send us both addresses and we will do the rest.
